Join us on Saturday, May 12th for the 2nd Annual Art-A-Thon – Danville’s coolest community arts event.

This art-making extravaganza will showcase the talents of dozens of professional and aspiring artists in our community while raising funds to support the Community Arts Center’s arts education programs for children and adults.

Make a donation to support a participating artist!

From 11am to 4pm on Saturday, May 12th, downtown Danville will be overflowing with artists demonstrating their craft. Painters and potters, quilters and sculptors, dancers and singers, established professionals and aspiring art students will join together for a day of creative art-making.

Registration is now open for participating artists! We welcome artists in ALL genres – visual arts, music, performing arts, dance, and more – to join us for this event. Click here to see pictures from last year’s event.

Student artists are WELCOME. To make it easier for young artists to participate in this event, children can choose to either bring an independent project to work on (painting, coloring, friendship bracelets, etc.) OR contribute to a collaborative kids mural that will be evolving during the event.

How It Works:

Step 1Register as a participating artist. Click here to access the online registration form. By registering, you are committing to a two-hour session of continuous art-making and to raising funds in support of your participation. (Musicians and performing artists will have a different schedule – let’s talk about what works for you!)

Step 2Set a fundraising goal. The Art-A-Thon is raising funds to support the Arts Center’s education programs, including free field trips for local students and scholarships to Arts Exploration Camp this summer. We have set a goal of raising $10,000 through this event. Setting a personal fundraising goal will inspire you (and your supporters) as you contribute toward the total goal.

Step 3Collect donations. Tell people you know that you are participating in the Art-A-Thon and ask them to support you by making a donation. You can ask family, friends, co-workers, church members – anybody you can think of. Supporters can donate online or by cash/check using a donation form. Your online page is a great way to recruit support from out of town friends and family! (We can help you set it up if needed.)

Step 4Make some art. On May 12th, show up for your designated art-making shift and have some fun. Encourage your supporters to come out and see you in action! Any art that you create during the Art-A-Thon is yours to keep, sell, or give away.
