Join the Community Arts Center for an art-lovers trip to Windy City. From architecture to impressionist painting to shopping on the Magnificent Mile, this 4-day/3-night adventure will introduce you to the art, culture, and charm of Chicago. Travel in comfort and stay at one of Chicago’s most famous hotels. Explore the best collection of impressionist paintings outside of France. Experience the beauty of Chicago’s architecture as seen from the Chicago River. And that’s just the beginning!

Your registration fee includes:
  • Transportation via private bus from Danville to Chicago and back;
  • Dinner upon arrival in Chicago on 9/5;
  • 3 night accommodation at the historic Palmer House hotel;
  • Bus tour of Frank Lloyd Wright buildings in the suburb of Oak Park;
  • Admission and guided tour of the Art Institute of Chicago – including lunch in the museum cafe;
  • Admission and guided tour of the Museum of Contemporary Art;
  • Chicago Architecture River Cruise along the Chicago River.
In a city with so many possibilities, you’ll want to have some time to explore on your own. Once all the September listings are complete, probably by early June, we’ll provide you specific details about other activities you might be interested in doing on your own or in small groups in the evening.
We are also looking into the possibility of purchasing tickets to see Hamilton on Thursday or Friday evening. These tickets would be at an additional cost, pending availability. We hope to know more soon!
This trip is being facilitated by Dr. Milton Reigelman, Centre College Professor Emeritus. The per-person trip price is $780, assuming double hotel occupancy. Single reservations are available for $985. Registration deadline is July 6th. Registration is limited to 25 people on a first-come, first-served basis. A $300 deposit is due at the time of registration, with the balance of the trip due by August 15th.
