Ariel Winds is an all-female woodwind quintet. Founded at the Juilliard School in 1998, Ariel Winds consider themselves “messengers of music,” and have toured broadly across the United States. Hailed as “technically brilliant, refined and innovative,” Ariel Winds is known for connecting with audiences of all ages.
The group will perform works by Beethoven, Ravel, and Reicha. The quintet features Kathryn Farenish on flute, Erin Gustafson on oboe, Anthea Jackson on clarinet, Gili Sharett on bassoon, and Misty Tolle on horn. Ariel Winds has delighted listeners in some of North America’s most prestigious concert venues including Carnegie Hall’s Weill Recital Hall, Alice Tully Hall, and Merkin Concert Hall. They were winners of the Artist International Auditions and recipients of a Chamber Music America Rural Residency in Stephenville, Texas.
Renowned for their fantastic family concerts and educational programs, Ariel Winds created interactive concerts for the NY Philharmonic School Partnership Program, the 92nd Street Y, and Young Audiences of New York and Connecticut. Members of the ensemble are graduates of the Juilliard School, McGill University, Boston University, and the Mannes School of Music.
