LWTA – Danville Dulcimers
Lunch with the Arts – Danville Dulcimers
Wednesday, April 17 | 12pm to 1pm
$5 at the door ($3 students)
Danville Dulcimers is a group of friends who enjoy meeting weekly to play music together. The group uses these opportunities to learn, share, and promote the Kentucky State instrument, the mountain (lap) dulcimer, along with the hammered dulcimer, banjammer, Irish pennywhistle, autoharp and assorted types of percussion. Their love for these traditional instruments and the joy they have in playing and performing together inspires them to present free programs for community and church events, children’s activities, nursing and senior citizen centers, and other area venues.
Their music varies, but you can expect to hear fiddle tunes, gospel songs, and waltzes. Learn more about the history and enduring appeal of this Appalachian music style during this noontime concert.
Thanks to Stuart Powell Ford Lincoln Mazda and Direct Experience in Artistic Living, Inc. (DEAL) for their generous support of this program.
