If you’ve always dreamed of learning to use a potter’s wheel, it doesn’t get any easier than this! If you’ve taken wheel-thrown pottery before, this will be an opportunity to continue building your skills.  Students will have the choice of firing pieces in instructor Jonas Hurley’s wood/propane fired kiln or in our electric kiln. This class usually sells out so don’t wait to sign up!

Register here.

Please note, this class will not meet on April 5. Need-based scholarships are available. Contact Maggie Shapiro Haskett at education@communityartscenter.net or 859.236.4054.

Students also have the opportunity to sign up for a two-month Ceramics Studio Student Membership. Being a member of the studio provides access to the studio outside of class hours, storage space for your materials and work, use of Arts Center glazes, and the opportunity to have the Arts Center fire completed piece.  This special introductory membership costs $50 and includes your first 50 pounds of clay. Additional clay may be purchased for $.66 per pound. The Student Membership is valid through May 31st after which students may apply for full membership if desired.
