On all days that the Danville Independent School District is closed due to extreme weather, classes, programs, events, and open studio hours at the Community Arts Center will be cancelled and exhibits and the building will be closed. On days that the DISD has a delayed opening, the Community Arts Center will also delay opening until 10am.
Additionally, if weather conditions rapidly deteriorate on a day that the DISD has remained open, the Community Arts Center may cancel evening programming and/or close early at the discretion of the Education Director and Executive Director.
Finally, in the event of other sorts of natural disasters, or widespread dangerous conditions (epidemics, flooding, etc), all programming will be cancelled, and exhibits and the building will be closed.
The Arts Center will post closing information to social media and inform local radio and TV stations in an effort to inform the public of closings and delays as soon as is possible. We will also make every reasonable effort to personally contact enrolled students via phone and email.
No refunds or make-up sessions will be offered for cancelled classes within a multi-session program (e.g., Mini Masters or Wheel-Thrown Pottery). Rescheduling or credits will be offered for single classes that are cancelled due to bad weather (e.g., Starry Night Studio).
