We need you!
Whether you’re interested in kids programming, arts outreach, or just spending the morning greeting visitors, we’ve got a volunteer position that’s right for you. Depending on what type of volunteer work you’ll be doing, you may be required to get a criminal background check. Please refer to our Background Check Policy.
Starry Night Studio Paintwaiters
If you enjoy surrounding yourself with creative people and watching art come to life, you’d make a great paintwaiter. These fabulous volunteers support our talented Starry Night Studio instructors and help classes run smoothly. Preparing for a painting workshop is a big job (and so is the cleanup) and it’s hugely helpful to our instructors to have an extra set of hands. The paintwaiter helps prepare the room, keeps painters well-supplied with paint, water, and other materials, and assists with cleanup. They are also our event photographers (we have the camera)!
Paintwaiters volunteer on an as-needed basis. The time commitment for each class is usually 4 to 5 hours and classes are offered several times each month. You can volunteer as often as fits your schedule!

For adult classes, our class assistants arrive early to class to help set up the room and organize materials. They also stay after class to help with cleanup.
For our children’s classes, our volunteers help with setup and assist the teacher, providing additional support to any students who need a little extra help.
